Anyone used Spiro in gel form (compounded)? Hi all,
I've been having some problems with blood pressure (too low) and interactions with my other meds while taking Spiro orally. So now my doctor wants to switch me to a topical form, which is a gel, that I have to get specially made by a compounding pharmacy. I was just starting to see my acne and facial hair get better, but I guess I was on too high a dosage (175 mg/day). I think she's ordered a 5% gel to be applied to the face 3 times a day.
Has anyone else used Spiro this way? If so, did it work as well as the pill form? Since it works more locally, rather than systemically, I guess I'd have to apply it all over my face in order to get the same results? Has anyone used this and does it work as well for acne? I'm so terrified that my acne is going to come back with a vengeance - and I want to look decent for my 40th birthday in June. (Sheesh, almost 40 and still fighting acne :-( )
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Jenny
