I recently started taking provera and clomid for the first time. After taking the 5 days worth of provera my bleed started 4 days later. On second day of bleed I had to take my 1st tablet of clomid. After taking the 5 days worth I thought I was meant to stop bleeding a short time after.
I thought the bleed was only meant to last 5 days as according to the Doc I was to start intercourse 4 days later. I am still bleeding. I have been bleeding for 12 days.Is this normal?? Im so worried.
Scared I wont ovulate.
I've taken provera and clomid. How long are your periods usually? If they are normally that long, I wouldn't worry. The provera isn't supposed to give you a set amount of bleeding days.
The way it's worked for me before is I take the 5 days of provera, then on the 4th or 5th day I get AF, and then on the 3rd day of AF I start taking the clomid, and then my period usually goes away after maybe 5 days total, give or take, but that's what my period has always done.
Are you testing for ovulation (either with an OPK or temping)? That way you'll have a better idea of if you are ovulating or not (which is when it's important to start intercourse...some people it comes right around that 14 day mark, some people it comes later...
Oh, and I've done 2 rounds of Clomid and didn't ovulate either time, so it's not always a given that you'll ovulate.

Did your doctor tell you tak take it on the second day of bleeding? I have heard to start from the 3rd to 5th day of bleeding..have you called your doctor yet? There are a lot of variables that play into it.

UmmMudd, I didn't get AF. Basically I took the clomid and used the OPKs, and they never said I was ovulating, and I know they aren't the most accurate, but I'm on CD46 right now and nothing, so I'm pretty sure that there was no ovulation going on...so I AGAIN started provera today...
My doctor says to take the Clomid either on days 3-7 or days 5-9. I've done the 3-7 for the first two rounds and so this time I'll be trying 5-9...
Hi there, My cycle wasnt regular to start with thats why she put me on provera. When I did get them, they usually only lasted 4-5 days max. I havent been taking my temp but I will start. I didnt think there was any point when I am still bleeding. I have never bled so heavy in my life. I have to go for a progesterone test on thursday even though Im still bleeding. The bleed was supposed to stop around the 5th june. She worked out i shoud of ovulated around 11,12 or 13th. (if they had stopped on time) Or is it still possible to ovulte when still bleeding?
My cycles are all over the place, so in order to do my initial blood work, they had to give me provera to get things going. The first time I took it my period was long and heavy...like there was a lot of built up lining. After that it was pretty normal with each dose that I took.
Anyone using both provera and clomid? Affects
