So it should be reduced temporarily, like in Lupron, but it can then come back the same severity. Everyone is different and everyone has a different story. So, some women say yes it becomes worse and some women say it has been the same. Hopefully, other women can give their testimonials here. I do remember reading stories about this in the famous book 'Our Bodies, Ourselves'. From what I understand, endometriosis is thought as a working woman's curse. 'They (the old medical community) thought she had put her career first and so she suffered through the cramps because she put having children on the back-burner. This ignorant way of thinking is totally different now cause even young girls have it too. When I got my last shot of Lupron, the doc who gave it to me joked and asked me 'you know what's the best solution for this?' And of course I knew. So, I replied 'It's not going to happen right now because I'll need someone to make that happen!' Yep! I got the 'working woman's curse'! I'm single, 31 y.o., and I'm about to be a physician with endometriosis. There's a book called 'The Endometriosis Sourcebook' it's very informative! If you want, look at the Amazon review to get an opi and see if it's worth borrowing. Amazon Consider yourself fortunate and blessed! I think vits and accupuncture is awesome and I've heard great success with it for infertility. Good luck on your pregnancy! I forgot to mention I found this name on the reviews on a good book of nutrition for endometriosis., PCOS, and other causes of infertility. Her name is Dian Shepperson Mils and she is a nutritionist who has suffered with endometriosis. I'm going to borrow this book. ' ' It looks very promising for treatment of endometriosis.

However, it could be related to exclusively breastfeeding almost that whole time, I don't know.

It's good! It even includes a chapter on PCOS and endometriosis. Although, it doesn't include a chapter on pregnancy it does reiterate the importance of good nutriton in dealing with endometriois as well as dealing with infertility. Her recommendations of avoiding wheat and sugar is tough, but I'm willing to do it. I've already realized that those two things makes a difference in my energy level throughout the day. What herbals does your accupuncturist recommend? She recommends several that I haven't heard about (a la Slippery Elm?)

Do you think PCOS and endo is definately linked somehow? I heard they both work on estrogen dominance and abnormal insulin response...In addition to allergies and bad immune system.

But apparently, everyone with PCOS may not have endometriosis and vice versa. Again, I have to put my pitch on that book (again - she even has a chapter on PCOS and syndrome X), it seems that they are treated the same way with nutrition. Avoiding carbs and/or vitex. It seems like when the hormones are reduced, the PCOS and endo get better for us.

Nice to have someone who knows about PCOS and Endo AND likes nutritional therapy
Thats why the herbs and supplements I took for my endo also helped my PCOS. All the anti inflamitory vitamins and omegas helped hormone balance too.
Good luck with your graduation next week! YAY!

Points: 3,611.52 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,611.52 | i dont have endo but my sister does. before her pregnancies she would be in severe pain she even fainted some and would be so sick to her stomach she didnt eat for a month. after she first became pregnant it went away completely, then shortly after it came back a little nothing as severe as the first time and a few years later she got pregnant again and has had the baby and still not had any more flare ups. so i guess it is each person is different
but i really do think they are linked just from lots of different information, my oldest sister has mild pcos and mild endo. my middle sister (( the one i talked about above )) has only endo and i only have pcos.
ive never been checked for endo though or really thought i had it. whenever AF would come every once in a blue moon my periods were severe and i experienced extreme pain but i just always related it to being as i havent had a period in so long my bodys making up for lost time! or either im just not "used" to it |
