I use a wash that Avalon Organics makes. It smells really nice (lavender!) and it is very gentle. I get it in the natural food section of the local grocery store--there are a lot to choose from, and I've tried a few by now. The lotion I use is from Burt's Bees. I read something interesting that said that because your skin is your largest organ and it sucks up whatever you put on it (i.e. it ends up INSIDE your body as well), you should try not to put anything on your skin that you wouldn't feel comfortable eating! I can't say I live by that necessarily (I certainly wouldn't eat my sunscreen!) but it's interesting nonetheless!

My skin has cleared up alot over the last year. I started getting facials with an estetician every 4 months or so, use jurlique balancing cleanser and face moisturizer, and lerosett mask. The mask is awesome and really helps with the tough pimples...clears them up in a couple days! The combination of a good cleanser, moisturizer and mask has really worked for me, when nothing else did! If you can afford it, I highly recommend visiting an estetician. Mine works in the dermatologists office. Insurance almost never covers the cost of facials, but I figure that $90 every 4 months if it works is worth it.

Hope you find what works for you.

Hi, I have suffered with acne since I can remember. I'm now 26 and still have major breakouts. About a month ago I visited a naturopath and explained my situation, she is now treating me from the inside rather than from the outside, which makes total sense. Our skin is the largest organ of the body so it's kind of like a message to us that if the skin is having these breakouts to release these toxins something on the inside of the body isn't right. She's have me changed my diet slightly, cutting out carbs and controlling my sugar in take (which is very hard) and put me on a number of vitamins, i'm also taking a mediherb called Polyfem which is used to control my hormones to decrease my testoterone levels. That's another thing, you're testosterone levels maybe alot higher than what they should be for a women so I would have that assessed also. It's been almost 2 months and only now I have started to see a slight change so I'm hoping that I have found a solution to end this dreadfull rollercoaster ride with acne.
Good Luck.

I've tried a lot of products too. What's working for me is DDF brightening cleanser mixed with white cane sugar. That has gotten rid of all my blackheads and calmed down any new breakouts. I then use Queen Helene's mint mask as a spot treatment at night. This works amazingly for cyst-like acne that won't quit! A dab on and it ususaly resolves in a couple of days. I agree that putting a lot of "acne" products on the skin makes it worse, at least that's been my experience. I'd suggest low carb too and lower your sugar intake.
