Hi, I don't follow the forums on medications as closely as perhaps I should and I was just wondering if there was anything new that I have not heard about for managing PCOS with medications. Conception is not desired in my case but perhaps information on that subject would interest other people. I am mainly interested in things like improved quality of life, weight management, improving insulin sensitivity, lower androgens and minimizing the effects of physical effects of androgens, and improving over health and minimizing the risk factor associated with PCOS - stuff like that.
I know about things like insulin sensitizers (glucophage, actos, avandia) and a little about anti-androgen medication (mainly spiro) and birth control pills.
I have had a lot of luck with the Insulite PCOS system, natural progesterone cream and following the diet outlined in Dr. Nancy Dunne's "The Natural Diet Solution for PCOS and Infertility." I have been able to reduce blood sugar levels, testosterone levels, and actually became pregnant (big surprise!).
