Kat,
I was just wondering if there is anything out there better than glucophage. I have hyperinsulinemia where I produce too much insulin. This makes it very hard to low carb or to diet. HELP PLEASE, if you can.

Sept. 2003 Weighed 289 lbs at 5'8"
CURRENTLY at 259.5 lbs.
GOAL (to weigh) 125 lbs.

GOD NEVER GIVES ME MORE THAN I CAN HANDLE I JUST WISH HE DIDN'T TRUST ME SO MUCH!!!!!!!

Docs around where I live don't have a clue how PCOS works let alone how to treat it. I had to teach my family doc that gluco doens't cause you to bottom out and a nurse got very irrate with me at our local hosp. about why I was taking gluco if my sugar bottomed out. So I had to tell her too and that went over like a lead balloon because she didn't like being told that what she was taught was incorrect. I was seeing a diab. endo and he was a great doc but a little looney. He just disappears from his office without notice to the nurses or staff and so I could go for an appoinment that is an hour drive and he could just leave without any notice. I don't have any other specialists that I can count on or know if they are any good. That is why I count on you and the ladies on this site to help me out too. Well I better get to researching. If I learn anything new I will share the info with everyone here. Thanks again.

What area of Ohio do you live in? I used to live in the Cleveland area and now I live in the Cincinnati/Dayton area. I can tell you what Dr's I saw up north or who I see down here if you would like.
