Yes. I have struggled with acne most of my life and I finially found something that works. I read the book by the ladies that created ProActive. ProActiv is too expensive for me, but in thier books, they recommended stuff you could use over the counter and what works. They said that it is the COMBINATION of Salacylic Acid and Benzol Peroxide that works...you have to use them together. So, after experimenting a bit with what works for me, I have developed this system, and I rarely break out after using this for about 6 months now.

Morning I wash in the shower with:
Swiss Ives Medicated apricot scrub (2% Salacylic Acid)

Then I use Clean and Clear Blackhead Clearing Astringent (1% S. Acid and no alcohol)

then I apply 10% Benzoyl Peroxide (WalMart brand because its the cheapest and I use a lot of it)

At Night I do the same thing except I cleanse with Neutrogena Cleanser/Mask (which is 3% Benzoyl Peroxide) instead of the Swiss Ives.

I moisturize every day with Clean and Clear Shine Free Moisturizer. Have thought about using the blemish Control lotion, because it has Salacylic Acid in it, but Im worried it will be too much medication on my face. I also use an eye cream day and night.

Anyway, using this regimine, I have had virtually clear skin for the past 6 months. Even my husband has noticed and commented on how much clearer my skin is. You can try different types of products until you find what works for you, the point being that you MUST use a Salacylic Acid product AND a benzoyl Peroxide Product TOGETHER, MORNING AND NIGHT. You cant just use one or the other. Also, they recommend using a sulfur product to reduce swelling for actual blemishes. They say it doent matter what order you use them in as long as you are using both products together.

Hope this info helps! Good Luck!

Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask is great for spot treating, as is Acnomel - both contain sulfur.

I would steer clear of benzoyl peroxide except as a wash or mask, because it generates free radicals and can ultimately age your skin.
