I have read many post that specify that their appetites were decreased but it seems as though i get hungry more often while taking the met...Does anyone else have this problem?
Im sorry this really isnt conserning to your post, but I see that your from MI. I am too and im looking for a doctor to go to I am almost positive that I have pcos and I'd like to get it checked out.If possible do you have any refferals? Thanks a Bunch -Danielle-
When I started Metformin, I DEFINITELY had a larger appetite...it seemed as though there was no point in taking it, with all the gastrointestinal discomfort and then to be even hungrier! Fortunately, as time wore on (maybe about 2-3 months?), the "hungries" seemed to decrease, although I believe it coincided with my attempts at low-carbing. I am off the Metformin now, but need to get back on...and I don't look forward to those hungries! Hang in there!
Ok so your appetite on Met/Gluc. I've found while on the IR Diet that my appetite changed. The Diet does the same thing Met does...lowers your insulin to normal levels. I don't get hungry more, but I do actually get hungry. That is, my stomach growls. It doesn't when I am off the diet. I just get crabby or get a headache and that tells me it's time to eat. Or I get a craving and eat. All that goes away on the diet and I actually get physically hungry about every 4-5 hours which is normal and healthy.
