I recently picked up a bottle of Apple Cider Vinegar pills (300mg). It says on the bottle to take 1 pill twice a day with meals. I've been reading the posts about ACV but it seems like everyone is doing straight "shots" of ACV. Has anyone done it in pill form? Have you had success with this? How many milligrams per day do you take?

Make sure that they contains Acetic Acid - that is what the article that asserts that vinegar can be helpful (for Glucose/Insulin/Weight Control) attributes the positive effects of vinegar to.
I have seen vinegar pills/supplements that specifically say that they contain Acetic Acid (and probably also the amount of Acetic Acid they contain). My understanding is that not all "vinegar supplements" contains Acetic Acid. My impression is that it is likely better to get your vinegar from vinegar than from a supplement. Some people use some sort of an apple cider vinegar containing salad as sort of a "pre-course" to their meals -- I think cucumbers marinaded in ACV is one that it popular -- I have also done something similar with "slaw cabbage" that comes precut and in bags.
Although there are commercially available vinegar dietary supplements, Johnston notes that they "don't appear to contain acetic acid," and based on studies by others, she suspects that's the antidiabetic ingredient in the vinegar.
This is an example of one that seems to at least be labeled as containing Acetic Acid http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/kal/apple.html -- which is not to say necessarily that it will be as effective (or won't be as effective) as using plain ACV -- I don't think that the supplements have been tested out in the way way as the vinegar has - but if I were going to try to use a supplement I would probably (in the future) try to buy one that says it contains Acetic Acid -- although if I already had bought and opened one that does not indicate - I would probably just use it up and hope for the best - and buy different next time. . . . . Or you could try to return it.
