Apri/Desogen? Different?

I am finishing my 1st pk of Apri & have bled the whole month....
Called Dr. & he wants to switch me to Desogen...Nurse says it is a little stronger...
Is there a difference? I thought they were the same....
Can the "name-brand" be better than the generic?
Anyone experienced this before?
I will be starting Desogen on Sunday...I'm hoping something miraculous will happen!
