I believe that Phytoprolief has black cohosh, which I've heard isn't good if you're not menopausal. The Prolief is just progesterone with some other oils mixed in so I'd go with that.

Here's a link

At the bottom of that page, it says this:

Phytoprolief contains the following phytoestrogen herbs:

• Black Cohosh
• Chaste Tree Berry
• Dong Quai
• Evening Primrose Oil
• Red Clover
• Alfalfa
• Licorice
• Ginseng

I'm pretty sure you don't want phytoestrogens, just plain old progesterone. But maybe someone else will be able to confirm that.

Hope that helps!

Here's another link that talks about the difference between the two...

Out of curiosity, where did you see that it contains Vitex? I'm not finding that...

They very well may be, I'm not familiar with either of them.

Yes, Chaste Tree Berry is Vitex (vitex agnus castus).

So if we are gonna use PHYTO,we don't need to take Vitex w/ it? Right?

How do any of you use the Prolief? Do you use it daily as recommended on the bottle, or do you use it post-ovulation only? I have both the Prolief and the Phyto Prolief, but I'm unsure which to try, and how to use it. My Arbonne rep couldn't answer any of my questions. I am TTC, so of course I want to use whatever is most suitable for that. I assume that not all of the active ingredients in Phyto are safe during pregnancy, but would Prolief be okay (as the other NPCs are) during the beginning of a pregnancy until you get to the doctor? Maybe I should just leave the Arbonne stuff in the drawer and stick to a plain NPC?

Ultimately, I know I need to check with my doc, but I'd love any input that anyone may have. Thanks!

If you're TTC, it's important that you only use NPC after you're positive you've ovulated. Using it before then can actually prevent ovulation.

Prolief is just basic NPC with no other added herbs (just some oils) so it's fine to use.

ETA: Each pump of the Prolief is 20mg of progesterone, the recommended daily dosage. So just use one pump daily once you know you've ovulated.

I used Phytoprolief and I thought it would be OK to use it as it said on the bottle. I figured that my progesterone levels would decrease at the right time and AF would occur within a normal time range if I took it just once daily, even though it suggests two times daily. And I got AF after only four uses and two weeks after my last cycle.
