Lightbulb Aromatherapy - SUCCESS!

Hi all!

I have been experimenting with essential oils and I think I have found the magical combination to balance hormones.

I am an aromatherapy practitioner in the process of getting certified. The oils I recommend are not safe for pregnant women and should not be taken with alchohol.

It is clary sage and geranium (2.5% dilution) in a jojoba base. I applied it to my wrists every morning for a month. The wrists are a great place because the skin is thin and therefore the essential oil molecules reach the blood stream faster.

Results:

Period came early which I welcomed enthusiastically since it is usually every 6 weeks.

My PMS has been totally under control. I am usually so irritable and sad and depressed for like 3 weeks of the month - and now I feel great - I feel like a different person.

My acne seems to be the same and my weight hasn't changed but maybe I will notice something down the road.

YAY!!!

where in the world do you get aromatherapy oil that is clary sage and geranium (2.5% dilution) in a jojoba base?

I totally believe in aromatherapy myself.
thanks for the info, I will try it if I can find the oil...

You should be able to buy clary sage and geranium essential oil separately and then put it in any oil (olive, sunflower) - it just needs to be diluted. The two oils are pretty popular so they should be at a local health food store or grocery store.

I would not use clary sage if TTC. The geranium is fine to use. It is the hormone balancer while clary sage helps with the PMS.

Clary sage is good to add if af arrives... that's okay when ttc isn't it?

How many drops of each e.o. to how much carrier oil? Would be immensely helpful.

Default dilution

I used a 10% dilution. So say 1 ounce of carrier oil with 30 drops of each. This is a strong dilution and could be decreased to 10 drops each.

By the way, I just had me second perfect 28 day cycle! One symptom down, 2 more to go (acne & stubborn pounds).

I forgot to ask - how many drops of this prepared oil mixture do you apply onto your wrists?

TIA

Hi, do you know if this can be tried at the same time as using progesterone cream? I recently purchased the emerita cream, but was curious to try this as well.

I don't have experience with progesterone cream so I don't know.

I would definitely try one without the other for a month to get an idea of the results.

Since I have the essential oils, I'm going to try this first. I have an appointment with a Naturopath Doctor on 10/26 so I'll just hang on to the cream until she tells me if I should be using it or not. I have the combination that you recommended on my wrists right now .

Also, Do you have any essential oil remedies for hair loss?

Thanks for the essential oil tips !
