Oh wow, that's horrible. I don't have diabetes, but I've only gone to a nail salon for a manicure once in my life. That was enough, because the young man (who was also coughing up a storm, ugh I don't even want to think about that) basically tore apart one of my thumb cuticles, and the next day I had a very nasty infection. Never again. I just don't trust anyone to properly sterilize their instruments. I never thought about waxing as a risk though. No way I'd contemplate it after reading that.
