Please follow what your doctor believes. Perhaps you do have Cushing's, there are certainly similarities and there are several cysters who have both. You don't want to outrule anything because you want to get the right treatment so you get better. Let your doctor do the tests you need so you get a proper diagnosis. If your results reveal that you are insulin resistant, then fight for the met, and if you don't feel you are getting the proper care then find another doctor.
I realize you are angry but you are angry at your symptoms and angry at what they could possibly mean and lead to, don't push this anger onto your doctor.
Good luck tomorrow.
Heather

Please look at the following symptom lists for PCOS, and cushings. note how many symptoms are similar to each other. Key points though are that cushings is caused by high levels of cortisol in the blood. If you are at odds with the doc, have her check your cortisol levels. blood doesn't lie One simple way for you to check also is to look at the stretch marks on your body... if they are still bright after tears, that is a sign of cushings. Usually stretch marks fade in time.
Of course there are exceptions to every rule. And while I do not have cushings, I do have PCOS with VERY fragile skin. I even have failure to heal, but that is my diabetes doing that, and a lack of vitamin C.
Make sure to clarify with your doc on these things, listen to the blood work, and best of luck. no matter what the DX, I hope you find health
PS--- you can still get on glucophage/metformin if you are diabetic. some insurances will not pay for it UNLESS you are diabetic.

Great news! I lost about 20 pounds fairly easily on met. I watched what I ate but didn't exercise at all....I'm such a lazy bum. There are many women here who have lost a great deal of weight with met combined with diet and exercise. Check out the diet and exercise forum.
Good luck!

THANK YOU HEATHER
And people think being a doctor is full of grateful patients treating you with respect and status and glamour. It's usually thankless and extremely hard work.
