Question Atkins and met tmi

I know from your posts and my own research that loose stools is a big side effect of met. I am wondering if eating protien rich foods most of the time like I am doing with atkins can make that worse. I am already having issues with loose stools(tmi)and I am not even on the drug yet.(my re mentioned prescribing met) Is anyone having an okay time with Atkins and met?

I am doing met with Atkins too (only for the last 4 weeks). I really haven't had too many problems, one brief episode of GI distress. I have been treating myself to Carbolite treats and a few other no carb goodies. A lot of them say they have a laxative effect because of the ingredients. So if I each too much of those things I have a problem. I never had any side effects with met when I started it. I was lucky I guess.

After I was on Atkins and met a while I had some issues with constipation . I found that the carbolite thing s are like a laxitive and anything with malitiol..ecta. sorbitol.. whatever its really good if you take it when you are in need of a laxitive but just indescriminately taking them can get you into troble. i vomited recently after eating too many jelly beans. i thought i was keeping count and below my "limit" haha I guess not. anyway all told since last april I've lost 100# so some dirreha and vomiting once isnt a bad tradeoff. I'm having trouble finding a compassionate caretaker. My new gyn says if i dont lose 5# this month hes not going to keep me as his patient. Hes an ass. I'm on a part of my weight loss i'm getting smaller but losing and gaining weight so I really dont think we're having a long relationship. Anyway the met is so worth it and gets much better after a while and same as the Atkins it gets easier and better. good luck!!
