Default Atkins and Metformin

I went to my doctor the yesterday and the nurse practitioner said I was spilling ketones like crazy...I'm doing the Atkins Induction for about 9 days and I thought the point of that was to get into ketosis? She then said that it was very dangerous to take metformin and due atkins....something about kidney failure and blah, blah, blah. Should I not take the Met while doing Induction??? I think she thought I was diabetic because I was taking met-when I told her I was on it for PCOS she seemed kinda clueless.

Also I haven't lost any weight yet....if I'm burning ketones...how is this possible?

My calorie intake is between 1300-1600
I drink 4-5 liters of water daily
exercise 3x's a week at Curves

Is it because I have yo-yo'd in the past and am extremely insulin resistant???
