ATT: portland cysters!!!! OHSU research The OHSU Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Clinical Nutrition needs women volunteers with polycystic ovary syndrome for studies of the effects of insulin resistance on cortisol production, testosterone levels, and body composition.
Women with polycystic ovary syndrome should be healthy, non-smokers, and between the ages of 18 and 45. Study visits are completed over 3 days (including a 36 to 76 hour admission in the Clinical Research Center), and will include frequent blood draws and body composition analysis. Participants will be randomized to receive pioglitazone, metformin, or placebo for 6 months.
Participants will be compensated $200 for completion of each of 3 Clinical Research Center study visits ($600 for completion of all 3 visits).
