Wow, this is exactly what happened to me. I'm a slim petite size four and was just diagnosed with PCOS. I went to a endocrinologists who basically thought I was crazy to think that I had any hormonal issues. My periods were okay in terms of regularity (skipped sometimes)but I always felt that there was something 'wrong' with me, I just didn't know what. It wasn't until my new endocrinologist ordered a pelvic ultrasound and saw the many cysts I had, my elevated cholesterol, my hirsutism, and discovered the history of diabetes in my family that he came to his conclusion.
