Hi,
Pretty new to all these lists. I was diagnosed 2 years ago and I just started taking Metaformin. Does this make everyone who takes it sick?

Hi Elmo, welcome to SC!

Metformin has a tendancy to treat everyone differently. That being said, I think it would be hard to find many people who didnt suffer some effects from it. It can help to increase the dosage slowly and be sure to take it with food. Which s/e are bothering you most?

Thanks for that. My GP forgot to mention taking it with food. It has mainly been cramps and such, but I'm only taking it once a day so far, but from next week it will be morning and night...

i'm right there with you, elmo! taking it once a week right now and increasing the dose to twice a week.

Hi,
I started straight away on once a day. I didn't know you could start even slower. It would have saved me alot of cramps I'm sure.
