Hello fellow aussie PCOS cysters. Just wondering if there are any other Aussie gals who are keeping a blog about their PCOS/TTC/life journey?

Thanks ladies!

Hi Sarah,
I live in melbourne and have been diagnosed with PCOS, endometriosis etc.
I had a laparoscopy and d & c this month.
I see you have similar history, wondering how you are finding clomid?

Hi Allie,

We have super similar stories. How did your Lap go? I could not believe how long it took me to recover. I felt off for a week, I was told I should only expect to be out of action for a couple of days. Yea... right!

My first round of Clomid was OK, a few headaches and emotions were a bit all over the place but that's to be expected. Although this month I am doubling the dose so I've told hubby to agree with me no matter what . . . or expect an argument! haha he has been warned.

Are you on Clomid? Everyone experiences different side effects. I also have to take medication to enduce my period because I only ovulate naturally once or twice a year (yay Ovaries!).

Hope 2 hear from u soon!

Hi Sarah,
It went okay i guess, its the gas that the killer!! I had it on the monday and was walking ok by wednesday but my shoulders and rib cage were awfull!! I had the whole week off work!
Im not on Clomid howeverim looking into it at the moment, i have my post op appiontment with my GYN tomorow so will go through my options then.
He said after the surgery to think about starting a family soon (only missing the one key element of a man!) So will see how that goes.
From what i have heard alot of women have crazy symptoms and hormones go crazy on Clomid! At least you have prepared him! Haha

Hi Allie,

I never got the shoulder pains just the dull ache all over from the procedure itself. Post op is great fun, my Doc gave me photo's of my insides to take home (considering using them as my Christmas cards. lol). At this point I am hoping Clomid is all it's cracked up to be, coz the side effects are kicking my butt!

Hi Nat!

I thought the side effects from 50mg of Clomid last time were bad enough but they have worsened with the higher dose (makes sense I suppose). I keep telling myself that these symptoms may mean that ovulation may occur but it's hard when your dizzy, nauseous, hot/cold, sleepy and have crazy bad cramps. When do you start on the 100mg's? GL with it, be sure to let me know any of your side effects.

LOVING that we have some Aussie girls around!!!

Hey Sarah,

The side effects of 50mg of clomid last month were not too bad. I only really got the hot flushes. But i didn't O so i was a bit disappointed. I just started taking the provera yesterday to bring on my period and started the metformin yesterday as well which has made me feel VERY nausous today. So hopefully will be taking the clomid some time next week, CD 4-7. What CD are you taking it on?? Hopefully we get some results this month. Even if i didnt fall it would be nice to O!!!!

It is nice to see some aussie chics on here!!!

Cheers,
Nat

Yea Metformin makes my tummy very upset. I have just switched to Metformin XR (slow release) so I can take all 3 tablets in the morning instead of with each meal. Hoping it eases the yucky side effects. I am taking 100mg Clomid CD2-6. What dose of Clomid will you be on this cycle? I know what you mean about ovulating alone. I would be OVER THE MOON just to be told I ovulated. Right now it feels like it'll never happen (trying to think positive thought's but it's hard).

*Crossing fingers and toes for us all!

I will be taking 100mg clomid once my period starts. I have been taking provera for 4 days now (meant to only take it for 5 days) and still no sign of period. So i'm not sure whats going on. The metformin has messed up my bowel quite bad this weekend (i have ulcerative colitis and it seems to be making this worse) so i am going to ring my doc tomorrow and maybe start the injections instead (he did mention this last week but i thought id give the metformin a try). Have you had the injections?? Hopefully i can start these straight away.
Where abouts in sydney are u?

Cheers,
Nat

Yay, I have a 100mg Clomid buddy! I had to take Provera for 10 days to get things happening (I took it for 5 days and waited . . and waited . . and waited till Doc got me to try for 10 days, that seems to get things working). Oh no I bet the Metformin is making it stacks worse. I have been on it since October last year and my body has never gotten used to it.

I haven't tried injectables, doc wants me to try the Clomid + Metformin first. Let me know how the injections go (prob going to be my next step).

I live on the Central Coast, hows about yourself?
