Default austimandi...best wishes

I am sorry you feel your post was not well received and you feel the need to close the thread and to leave soulcysters based on your post. do know that when you post in an open forum, you have to be prepared to and thick-skinned enough to take all responses. Perhaps your post wasn't asking for viewpoints, but more for validation of your own. Dont' worry, motherhood will toughen you up! LOL

All people here aren't as close minded as you would like to believe. People feel very strongly about their choices and their children. There is no right or wrong way to deliver a baby...just a healthy way. And that is all that matters in the end...that mom and baby are healthy and happy with the outcome.

We wish you all the success in your pregnancy...may your pregnancy progress and be uneventful. May you find the peace and happiness on your new boards. Sorry you weren't ready/willing/able to hear others experiences or viewpoints. Perhaps someday you'll look back at these days and posts and see where others are coming from.

You'll see...
Best Wishes and enjoy your new boards

Thumbs down

It wasn't that I wasn't ready to hear others opinions, I wasn't ready to be attacked for MY opinion. And if you read my initial question, you would know that I was obviously considering homebirth and I was wondering if anyone else was doing the same. I don't mind others having a different opinion than mine, but I am not going to be insulted either. I would never tell another woman that her choices about birth would hurt her child, but other women were quick to do that to me. And like I said in my last post, other women were pm'ing me because they were too afraid to post on the thread for fear of being treated like I was!!! And while this thread might appear on the outside to be very encouraging to me, you found another way to be condescending since I am not "ready/willing/able to hear others experience and viewpoints." So stop pretending to be a thoughtful cyster and just be up front! I hate fake people!

I'm sorry too...

By the way, some mentioned not ever hearing of any cysters having home-births. I think I remember hearing about at least four in my year on the pg/mommy boards, but could only find two...

Then you missed my point entirely...there are times in our lives when we post and ask, and post and wonder, and post to see what others think. Whether you wanted and wondered what others would think....isn't the point. There mere fact that you posted on an OPEN forum opens it up to all sorts of views and feelings. That is ALL that I meant when I said you weren't ready/willing/able to hear the responses. There have many times in my 3+ years on this board (I see you are new here) I posted and asked/stated some things that I wasn't quite ready to hear all the possible responses. It just goes with the territory is all.

And you are right, you don't know me....as for others here that do, I can bet you 100 bucks that the would tell you that the one thing I am not is FAKE! LOL...I might be many other things (LOL), but I am not fake. I am pretty open and honest and blunt. I am sort of the "tell it like it is sort of gal"...

There is no condenscending tone here, but you can't perceive that well in email. I will chalk your reaction up to being so newly pregnant...scared, confused, emotional and hormonal. I have been there many times myself. I hope brighter days are ahead for you and your family.

You may chalk it up to whatever you wish but I stand by my first post. Just because I posted on an open forum does not make it right for others to behave in such a childish, petty manner. I am sorry if you don't understand my views, but you don't have to. No wonder you have cysters leaving this site left and right. I deleted the thread, hoping to put it behind me. When I said I was going to find another site, I meant to talk about homebirth with others without fear of persecution. I was not talking about leaving this site entirely. Normally I have tough skin, but on this particular topic I do not and I am not sorry about it. Some cysters will purposely find topics they disagree with just so they can argue and be asses. That's fine, but I do not have to be part of it.

As far as you being a "Tell it like it is sort of gal" - I think alot of people stand behind that facade so they can be cruel and inconsiderate without having to take responsibility for the hurt they cause others. But I am having a bright day inspite of this and will continue to do so.

tee hee.....I am sorry you took my post so seriously and personally. Do what you wish...we only wish you good things. I am sorry you haven't been around here long enough to see the good in people. Specially us "cysters" with pcos...we have a common bond of trials and tribulations of fertility, of our bodies not cooperating and failing us, and for motherhood. I did not attack your original post, not by any means...and I felt bad for you that you felt the need to delete it. That was all I was saying...I am sorry the hormones are getting in the way and that this subject is so touchy for you.

Along the journey...you will see that there are many many touchy subjects around here that get a whole range of responses and passionate posts...
*formula feeding vs breastfeeding....whoa baby...watch out for that one! LOL Do a search, get a cup of tea and prepared to be entertained

*natural vs medicated births...some VERY passionate responses there

*attachment parenting

*CIO (crying it out) vs Non CIO methods...

There are a ton of "hot topics" that we moms love to debate....luckily, most threads don't get deletd. Many many get closed, but thankfully...they are there for us to see, to learn from and to chuckle from time to time...

Please, accept my...and anybody else's apology (that wants to chime in)....that debates, feelings, opinions are not personal...they are just that...feelings and opinions...they can't be right or wrong..they are our own. Don't let it get to you.

Now, go out and enjoy this beautiful Saturday....here in Boston it is gorgeous!
(ps. I think if you really new me or my almost 5000 posts...you'd chuckle at your opinion of me or my posts....and for those of you who also got a kick out of it...thanks for your PM's.....LOL)...
Oh, and for the record...I CAN be cruel and inconsiderate...but I ALWAYS take responsibility...dont' I gals! LOL......

I saw and read the thread and I knew it was going to get ugly right away. Once you've been here awhile you can pretty much predict it.

I really wanted to add my .02 about how scary it could be because like many cysters that replied there were complications at birth and had they not been at a hospital it could have been fatal. I figured you didn't care to hear that part and just wanted positive responses that would be agreeing with you. I wasn't one so I didn't reply. However, many people do anyways because you just never know if you can change someone's life.

I don't know what was said in the thread as I didn't go back and read it but it doesn't surprise me that it got nasty. It's a very scary situation and people are passionate about things like that along with all the things (and more) that Holly mentioned.

Good luck to you and have a wonderful and safe birth!

This is really sucking the life out of my day and this will be my last post on this thread. UNDERSTAND THIS - it is not my hormones making me feel this way. And I have been here long enough to see the good in ALOT of cysters, and I made mention of that in a previous post. And as for all of the cysters out there showing ME support ( since this is apparently a contest) thank you again.

SO, Iluvstjohn, while this has been truly enlightening, I am done now and forever with this topic so I will bid you good day and hope that whatever difficulties you are having in your life will dissipate and you will go on to have a wonderful life inspite of everything.

I'm scared ****less. I can't enjoy it yet. Talk to me again in the 2nd trimester. LOL

austinmandi- I think it is your hormones hun. When you post something such as what you did you *know* something ugly will come out of it. The fact that it happened, like you knew it would, and now you want to have a tantrum about it, proves that it's your hormones.

It's a good thing you're on the PG with other hormonal people. We don't even notice!! LOL

Too funny Torie...
I was scared ***less too! somedays I still am! Somedays I think the little buggers are out to get me! But..more and more...the days are good...and wonderful...some days..not so good, but eh...what can ya do?

Ahhhhh, the pregnancy hormones! Aren't they the worst! I remember those days...pregnancy can make a sane logical person into a crazy woman! What's the worst is lookin' back and saying,....."man, was I a loon or what! " LOL
We've all been there, huh?

I always truly thought that only in movies women would cry on commercials and at the drop of a hat. Wrong! I was NEVER like this with Jayden. It's making me mad I tell ya!

Also, I MUST stop watching Three Wishes or Adam's going to commit me!

I didn't read much of the original thread, but if someone -- in an obnoxious manner --questioned Austin's commitment to the safety of her child because she is interested in learning more about home birth, then I think her reaction is warranted and defensiveness understandable, pg hormones or not. I hope that didn't happen, though.
