i have kept quiet on the whole issue, but i feel the need to say something now. i do feel like what i read on the forum was an attack. i do feel like birth has become so medicalized that a lot of people have forgotten what a natural process it is.
i do not talk about my homebirth on this thread because i do not feel like it is supported. with that being said, i would not put my child under any intentional risk. having a homebirth does not mean risk.
i am an intelligent, well read woman, who loves this babe inside me. if i need medical assistance i will get to the hospital. i am glad that there is technology out there to help if needed.
i do not feel however that my views on birthing and natural child birth are much supported on this site. don't get me wrong i enjoy this site. i enjoy other's experiences with the birth process, but i basically keep my mouth shut on my views.
i have a great midwife and a great ob. i am healthy and ready to experience birth.
open minds are a good thing.

Can't wait to hear your birth story! Girl power!
(meanwhile...picture me hooked up to the epidural with a big ol' smile on my face! LOL)...I picture you with lots of daisies around you! LOL.....

I have no idea what happened later on the thread since I had to leave.
In fact I don't remember much of the previous posts anymore except the fact that OP repeatedly called doctors (in general) stupid, is allegedly a pharmaceutical student who took some anatomy classes, which makes her more educated then the rest of us "normal average people" (OP apparently does not realise that there are also doctors on this board who will never reveal their identity and they even had a few physiology classes along with the anatomy...) and, yes, OP likes to use bold font...
And yes, I was offended by several things OP said, especially after I saw other posters taking their time to help with sharing their experiences only to be attacked, analysed and degraded by the OP seconds later.
What happened in the end is an interesting social phenomenon, some people felt they need to defend OP because "she only wanted to hear about other experiences" and "there is nothing wrong with unassisted birth".
Well, unfortunately that is not what she demonstrated on the thread.
I'm not sure if I posted on the other thread or not...while my opinions that an unassistaed homebirth can be dangerous/risky that's the person who is going thru with it's decision and possibly their problem if complcations arise. What they do does not affect me in the least. While I will feel sorry if a bad thing happened, I will pray for them and go on my merry way.
Do whatever you want with your vagina and your child. I just pray that you are making a very well informed decision. Taking all precautions nessecary in case a complication happens. If it's something you feel very strongly about then more powah to you. I wish you the best with your birth experience which ever way you decide to bring your child into the world. And may you both be kept safe. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
