Default Avandamet

Hi, I posted this on the UK and Irish board last night. I thought it might be useful in this forum also.

I have just come back from my first appointment with my new doctor and I wanted to tell you about a combination drug that she wants me to try. She assures me that it will help both my PCOS and diabetes. It is a combination of Metformin and Avandia (roziglitazone maleate) and is called Avandamet.

I was on Metformin for 1 year about 3 years ago and it was the drug from hell for me. I spent my life in the loo. I know that metformin is very highly thought of in this forum but it just didn't help me at all.

I am willing to give this a try and maybe those of you who are struggling with Metformin might want to ask your doctor about it too.

My mom just started fortamet also a couple of days ago and she is doing well on it. I heard the other girl who cant tolerate met/gluc do really well on fortamet.

Good luck!
