Avandamet 4mg/500mg 2 times daily

Hi all new here. I have been diagnosed (sp?) with type 2 diabetes and was put on Avandamet 4mg/500mg - 2 times daily. I am wondering if anyone here has been on this dosage before. I am ttc since 9/03 with no luck. never have regular cycles. Any info would be wonderul. those who have had this meds did you concieve from it? thanks in advance! jo

I don't take Avandamet. I take Actos 30mg w/ Metformin Er 500mg (2 separate pills) once a day in the morning. I think Avandia and Actos are similar, but my GP prefers Actos. This combined w/ finally getting my thyroid treated caused me to ovulate a few weeks ago and have a period on my own. Both of my children were conceived through use of Clomid and Met.
It is amazing what happens when you get your body and hormones straightened out!!
It was very hard not to catch that egg, but my husband is not ready for another child.
Good Luck to you. If you don't get regular taking the Avandamet you may need a dosage increase.

YES, AVANDAMET REALLY WORKS.
IT WORKED FOR ME. I STARTED TAKING IT FEB. 08, 2005.
MY CYCLE STARTED FEB. 17,2005. LASTED 5 DAYS. MARCH 17,2005 NO CYCLE. JUST ALOT OF CRAMPING.... MARCH 20TH. I TESTED POSITIVE.... PRAISE GOD... MY DOCTOR CONFIRMED THE PREGANCY ON MARCH 23RD.... WE'RE EXCITED.............
