Avandia?

Is anyone here taking Avandia?
I went to my endo yesterday and she told me to start taking it once a day (as long as our insurance will cover it.) instead of the metformin 3 times a day (because I am having trouble remembering the 3rd one.)
For anyone who is taking it - does it work well?
Which one seems to work better Avandia or Metformin?

I have been taking 8mg of Avandia since last July. I really love taking it. I never had any side effects and it made me feel really great. But my doc swichted me to Glucophage 500 4 X a day this month. She said that Glucophage works better for PCOS women. It has some side effects that Avanida does not have. But Avandia never started my period. My doc seems to think that Glucophage will.

Hello~

I've been taken Avandia since February. I really seem to like this. Before the Avandia I was taking Met. and I was SICK AS A DOG! The side effects were HORRIBLE. I've had NO side effects since starting Avandia and I've had my period each month. It's a miracle. The only problem I'm starting to notice w/ taking the Avandia is it's tough to lose those extra pounds that I could easily shed before. I would like to lose about 25-30 lbs. and it's REALLY difficult taking this drug. Is anyone else taking Avandia noticing this effect???
