I was wondering if anyone knew if avandia was safe in breastfeeding. I am breastfeeding currently but I would like to start trying to conceive in the next few months. I would like to continue breastfeeding as long as possible but I also don't want to wait too long before trying...any help or advice is appreciated.

I think it is a class c drug which means may be unsafe for fetus or breastfeeding. I have read this is due mainly to its newness and lack of testing. What does your dr. say?

Hi

I haven't approached my doctor about this yet. I just had a hard time conceiving last time and I didn't want to wait too long before using the 'big guns'. I used metformin and avandia when I conceived my ds but I stopped avandia after I go the positive hpt.
