Default Awesome smoothies

My Dh and I have started making smoothies. They make a WONDERFUL breakfast or a quick lunch too. They are really filling and DELICIOUS!

We went to Costco and bought Big Valley Frozen Fruit (blackberries, rasberries & blueberries), fresh bananas and Mango vanilla low fat vanilla yogurt. We add some 1% milk and a scoop of whey protein (about $22.00 for a 1 Kg pail that lasts forever).

Blend together:
1 banana
1 cup frozen or fresh berries or fruit
3/4 c yogurt
1 c 1% milk
2 scoops whey protein

This makes enough for a big glass for Dh and I each and small glasses for our 2 kids...I would guess about 4 cups or so.

Each 1 cup servings has approx:

123 calories
1.82 grams fat
17.3 grams carb
11.8 g protein
2.5 grams fiber

I love smoothies too!

I'll usually add a bit of honey or fake sugar too, since the berried tend to be too bitter for my liking.

you can make them without bananas and just put in berries and melon instead. We don't always have bananas around since we end up forgetting about them, but the berries and melon alone work just as well. My boyfriend will even throw an apple into the mix.
