Default Babies Names

Just thought i'd start another thread with this cos we touched on it before.

What baby names do you like, as i've said i love Grace but i have a real problem liking names for boys that haven't been used in our family. Already had Jack, Sean. Matthew, James, Paul, Andrew, Ben, Joe, Simon, Stephen etc

What does anyone think?

Well I don't know how relevant our choices will be because they're irish. I like irish names because they all have a meaning.

Dara means Strong as an Oak, and Aisling (ashling) her middle name means Dream or Vision. We chose Dara because the pregnancy had been threatened at the beginning and I had a threatened miscarriage - so we reckoned she was pretty strong to survive all she did. Also before we found out I was pregnant I had a dream that DH and I were in bed with a baby lying in between us. Anyway those were our reasons.

Other Irish names we liked were...
Girl: Niamh, Orla, Aoibh (Eve), Aoibhin (Aveen), Roisin (Rosheen), Molly
Boy: Donnacha (Dunacka), Connor, Eoghan (Owen), Ronan, Ciaran

But there are heaps of lovely English names. I like the olde world names that seem to be coming back...Emily, Victoria, Rebecca, Emma... I also like Chloe.

I also love the name Saren, I'd never heard of it, but one of the other Mum's on the May Mommies thread is called Saren and I just thought it was lovely.

Hmm...not very many boys names here. Let me think... Jonah, Thomas, Jack, James.

Paddy

Default awww what a sweet topic!!!!!

I only usually think of girls names that I really like, you can be more adventurous and pretty so I hope I have a girl at some point, lol!

I like Amber, Saffron, Georgia & Grace. I've always loved all flowery names like Lilly, Daisy, Rose, Jasmin, Poppy but they're all kinda common and very 'of the moment' names so not sure about that....Daisy was always what I wanted to call my girl but my partner surname begins in D and ends in Y also so that would sound stupid with Daisy Brianna is creeping up on my fave list too.

For the boys I like Austin, Jack, Kian & Dylan.

It is easier for me to pick a girl's name than a boy name also. My DH and I want to name a little girl Lela Claire if we have one. (it is after both of the our grandmothers) A little boy will be either Benjamin Durwood (after our fathers) or Benjamin Matthew (my dad and my DH) We also like the following names but don't know what other name goes with them.

Boys : Michael, Simon, Noah, Stephen, Paul (all Biblical names)

Girls: Shelby, Rachel, Rebekkah, Naomi, and my husband likes Catherine but i don't want another girl in the family to have that name. (we already have 7 "Catherine" each spelled a different way)

Well both me and DP like Lola for our girl but other names I liked but he didnt were Ellie, Emily, Katherine, Lucy, Hannah, Joanna or Joanne
Boys were Joseph, Johnny- he likes George.
If it was entirely down to me I would have:
Girl: Lola Elizabeth
Boy: Joseph Jonathon (too many J's maybe?!!)

I like Olivia, Grace, Holly, Eve and Jessica for girls.

And for boys, Cameron, Daniel, Jacob, Nicholas and Sam (from a friend who was killed in a hit and run two years ago).

The only thing is that it has to be easy to spell, I've had people mis-spelling and mis-pronouncing my name (Corinne) all my life and it'd be nice for my kids not to have that! I've been called Colin way too often for my liking!!!!!!

There are some really nice Welsh names (I used to live in Wales) but the majority of them go back to the spelling thing.

I already have Anna, I love that name.

This time we've settled on Jacob Alexander for a boy. Girl's names are less certain this time. Front runner is Madeleine, but I also love Imogen, Kate, Phoebe, Jill and Charlotte.

I'm a big fan of the boy's name Nathaniel. If we ever have a boy, the names we're thinking are David, Raymond and Warren.

Actually, that is hard! I just spent a few mins going through Ebony with lots of things and it doesn't go with many but it is such a pretty name.

The fave combos that I came up with were:

Ebony Jane
Ebony Victoria

I will think on!
