I've also heard it's beneficial for making the uterine environment more "inviting" for an implanting embryo. A lot of times, especially when taking Clomid, the lining can be very thin. Taking aspirin (doesn't have to be "baby aspirin"...I take a low dose 81 mg swallowable one because I got sick of the chewable ones) helps to make the lining "fluffier" and prevents clotting issues. I notice that when I take the aspirin regularly I experience less clotting and cramping with AF than before I started taking it. Before...I would have horrible clots and cramping, now I rarely have clots, and just mild cramping with AF.
Hope this helps!

My Mood: Points: 2,409.88 Bank: 3,649.90 Total Points: 6,059.78 | My doc told me that if we go back to Clomid (we're trying Femara right now), we would add estrogen to combat the lining problem. I asked her about baby aspirin and she said it might not help but it won't hurt, so go ahead and do it. I would ask the doc before beginning an aspirin regimen, though... since your medical history may be different from mine.

It is an anit-inflammatory and decreases risk for cardiovascular disease. Many cancers are directly caused by chronic inflammation (and duhhhhhh smoking - which I have quit).
People are put on it after they have had a heart attack or stroke to prevent another heart attack or stroke from occurring. I figure, why not prevent one from happening in the first place?

I will be 33 weeks PG tomorrow and took a baby aspirin every day during my cycle while TTC and continued to take it up until about 27 1/2 weeks pregnant. If you take it, and continue to take it during pregnancy, most Dr's will tell you to stop taking it at least by the beginning of the 3rd trimester, if not before, as taking it too close to your delivery will prevent you from being able to get an epidural or a spinal.
I really believe that the baby aspirin and a progesterone suppliment up until 12 weeks PG are what have allowed me to carry this pregnancy!
