I am seeing an RE that I totally trust, but after my first cycle with clomid 50 mg (days 5-9) and no ovulation, he instructed me to start with 100mg right away (NO provera induced period). I am on cd 18 and starting tonight. Anyone else ever do this?
I have never heard of doing this personally. I hope you get an answer.

Met.. didn't work for me, Nov 06.

I have heard of this but have never actually done it. I have a Drug handbook & it does say to start daily for 5 days on day 5 (although some say 3) if bleeding occures, or at any time if patient hasn't had recent uterine bleeding. If ovulation doesn't occur, you may increase the does daily for 5 days as soon as 30 days after the previous course.
Therefore, the only recomendation is to have about 30 days in between the first dose & the next.
I took 100mg Chlomid on days 3-7 in my last cycle and was being monitored by u/s and my RE advised I take another round of chlomid 100mgx5 on days 15-19 of the same cycle. I did. I ovulated but we missed the egg :-(
So, yes some doctors do prescribe it I guess. But I do feel it is strange because it does not mention it on the medication leaflet....
wow that's a first * i'll to research this... CONGRATS MINIMAMMA... I HOPE YOU GET YOUR DS.. BUT IF NOT...we'll take a healthy dd:o) i have one dd but Lord knows she's a handful i so long to give dh a ds.. that's my heart desire
