Back on Met Hi there everyone. I've been a long time Soul Cysters "stalker" but never committed myself to making an account. I finally took that big step haha.
So I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 17 in 2001. I had surgery for my ACL reconstruction and during surgery they noticed my high blood pressure. They wanted me to see an endocrinologist to see if I was hypertensive. Long story short, they found out I had PCOS. They placed me on Glucophage and I was on it for a few years, into my first few years of college. I lost weight, my acne cleared up, my blood pressure stablized, my hormone levels stablized (somewhat), heurotism reduced.. everything worked out great so they decided to take me off of it, and subsitutite it with BCP.
Now it's 2009 and i've gained all of my weight back, even though I eat well and exercise regularly. My blood pressure was measured this morning as 146/102! My doctor and I both agreed to put me back on metformin. I offically started re-taking it today. I'm EXTREMELY excited and hope this works out well. All of my symptoms are coming back in full force. And now, I'm engaged. I'm worried about the future with my fiance and I. I just hope it works out!
Anywho.. I love this site. I love the information and forums. It has been a useful tool for me, for many years. Thank you to the administrators and members! I look forward to being a more proactive member :-) |
