Well,

I just got back from the Perinatologist for a consultation. He took my history and basically told me he disagrees with my doctors that I had an Incompetent cervix (which by the way is now called cervical insufficency). He thinks I lost the baby because I lost the 1st twin and because of the bleeding which he thinks caused the membrane to weaken. He thinks that if I had gotten a scan before I lost the baby they would have seen that I was losing fluid. So his reccomendation is not to get a cerclage but monitor me closley.

However I do have the option of getting a cerclage if I want. Which I think I am gonna do because it takes so much for me to get pregnant in the first place that if the cerclage offers me even the tinest amount of a chance of going to term in my next pregnancy then I have to take it. I realize that having a cerclage does not gaurantee that nothing will happen but then nothing gurantees that.

I ordered my meds and set up an appt with my fertility doctor for August 12th so we are moving right along. I just wish the days would go quicker.

Glad to hear your appointment went well. My perinatologist is also going to do a cerclage on me. All the doctors told me that an incompetent cervix is very hard to diagnose, but because it is so hard for me to get pregnant, they are going to do the cerclage as a preventative measure. I just don't think I could lose another child that late into my pregnancy.

Glad to hear you are starting fertility treatment again. I am going to do a FET in September. I just want to be pregnant again. I know another child will never replace my daughters, but I know I am meant to have more children.

Good luck with your treatment in August.
