I have thinning hair but usually am able to style my hair so it looks good. I went in for a trim, told her I was trying to grow my hair long--someone new but recommended. I admit I should've been paying attention but she cut hair differently than I had anyone before. Next thing I knew she butchered the front/side of my hair--I then screamed, and had her cut off the back too otherwise I looked like I had a lopsided mullet. I hate my hairdo and am just wearing hoods and hats. I don't want to look in the mirror at all. I know it'll grow back, but a bad cut on someone who already has esteem issues with her hair is not a good thing.
Is there anything I can do to help my hair grow faster? Also am considering extensions, but I have wavy hair and afraid that extensions will not match. And finally, extensions are pretty pricey. If my hair just grew an inch I would be okay--not happy, but not screaming when I look into the mirror--seriously. Since the cut Thursday evening, I have skipped work and school. Tomorrow is Monday--I know I can't hide forever, but I want to.
I've had that happen too! I think the best thing to do is to take a shower and play with your hair. Maybe go to the local store and pick up some new things to style your hair with or to put in your hair. It always makes me feel better when I finally find a way I can easily style my hair and have it look decent at the same time. Perhaps once you play around with it a little bit you'll like it a bit more?
I am just wearing my hair pulled back in a clip w/ bobby pins around to keep it from sticking out. It's so short it's hard to pull back but I can live w/ this hairstyle for 2-3 months. Sigh.
I am seriously thinking about learning to cut my own hair so this doesn't happen again.
If you find cutting your own hair hard (I would never trust myself to try), what about finding a picture of what you want next time. OR, when your hair grows in the right length, take a few shots from the front and back so the stylist can see exactly what it looks like. I know it doesn't help right now, but it might prevent this in the future.
For now, you might want to try playing around with the hair a bit...try a different part than usual, you might be surprised with the outcome.
