Angry banging my head against a wall!

I am so frustrated right now I could scream and bang my head against a wall! I took a glucose tolerance test on Friday to see if I had insulin resistance..but they only tested glucose and not insulin levels...they say they were adequate/not abnormal, but I could barely talk straight or walk straight once the sugar got into my system, and afterwards, when I got home, then the sweats and shakes began...I read that you really need to do a 4 or 5 hr test to look for reactive hypoglycemia.....and on Sunday, all it took was one cookie on an empty stomach to throw me into what felt like a low. According to her, hypoglycemia isn't something to really treat unless you are diabetic. She even doesn't really see anything major about a testosterone level of 73 (combined with an shbg of only 35 means my testosterone is way out of wack, and I've got the chin, thigh and other hairs to prove it!)...she says just get more exercise and watch my diet...that she doesn't have enough evidence to diagnose it. and we'll look at it again in January....I could just cry right now, because I know things are not right.....and I'm so tired of it!

You may want to be seen by another doctor if your reactions are as bad as you've said and your current one isn't willing to work with you.

Don't downplay the positive effects of diet and exercise. In my PCOS struggles, I've found that basically no matter what meds you are on nothing will be truly effective unless you are regularly exercising and eating healthy meals.

I'm sorry that this is so frustrating right now! When I get bummed about PCOS I try to tell myself that "I have PCOS, PCOS does not have me."

the weight loss, and eating better has helped with some things, but despite eating far less than I did and better quality food, I've stopped going down in weight.....I'm around 218 lbs and 5'6". I just looked over my results and there are two things that are not right...one is that I wasn't told to eat normally before the test...I've been being careful with my carbs etc for almost a month ( a month today), which can apparently affect the test results. Also, the curve itself closer resembles reactive hypoglycemia...my highest result was at 2 hrs and was 135 (5 points under the cut off), and then it drops like a rock to 89 an hour later, and after I got home, I got sweaty, napped and woke up shaky. I will try to get another opinion, but without insurance, I'm feeling kind of stuck. I haven't been officially diagnosed yet, but have so many of the symptoms and it makes so much sense out of what I've been going through.....
