Default BC and Depression

I have Bipolar Disorder Type 1 and every time I am prescribed bc I get horrible depression. Does anyone have this problem, and if so is there a bc that you have found that doesn't make you depressed? I have heard great things about Yaz....

Depression is a side effect of many bc pills, usually side effects are not good It means your body is reacting to something in the pills. Sometimes it goes away and sometimes not. With many drugs if someone experiences side effects they either try something else or stop taking it. I do not believe it is a good idea to take other drugs to hide your side effect. I personally had that trouble with all kinds of bc pills, they made me depressed and cry all the time and when it was supposed to get better (after 4 months) it just kept getting worse. One Dr. told me to take some anti depressant with it, but I figured if my body doesnt like the pill why keep it in my body. Thats just one way of your body telling you it does not like it and to try something else. If you experience depression even before you started taking the pill you may have to be on some kind of dep. pills, but I would advise you to only try lo-dose hormone bc pills and if they keep you depresses. Maybe bc is not for you and you may need to try other methods with out hormones.
