Default BCP depletes minerals?

Has anyone heard about mineral deficiencies due to BCP use? I heard this a few years ago & I have been thinking maybe I should take some multi-vit's to replenish what I'm supposed to be loosing?

I've heard this too. I used to take a multivit for that reason (although I now take Zinc ACE instead). I read bcps can deplete b vitamins.

My pharmacist told me that my bcp (diane 35) depleted calcium and recommended a daily calcium suppliment.

Thats the same as I use, I only thought about asking the health store, maybe I should ask at the pharmacy - good idea!

Zinc ACE = it includes vitamins A C and E (as well as B complex and copper). On the packet it says "helps maintain healthy immune and reproductive systems"

Stacy, I had no idea about the calcium. I'm glad you mentioned that!

Haha glad I could help.

Id say hands down the best person to talk to is your pharmacists. They know pill combinations and effects possibly better than your doctor.

Definately check with your pharmacist or the doctor who handles your scripts. Birth control pills can deplete a spectrum of vitamins and minerals depending on the specific chemistry of the pill you are taking.
