Bcp & Met

hello! i was wondering if anyone was currently taking bcp and met? i was on met, but stopped it about a year ago. now i'm on bcp (for one more month) before another round of injections. i was just curious who was on both. i'd read somewhere that one kinda cancels the other out...thanks for the help!

I'm on met, and was just prescribed Yaz today... so I can't give any observation yet. I hadn't heard about problems with taking both before.. don't suppose you know where I could find details on that?

My doctor just switched me from Met to Yaz to try to help control the pain of a fibroid and cysts. She said that I didn't need to be taking both because they pretty much do the same thing. I still have Met because I had just got the prescription filled right before my appointment. And at the first sign of weight gain, I told her I would start the Met again.

i had heard that they cancel each other out, but i called me doc and asked him if i should be taking both...he said yes. i was on 1400 a day, but i asked him to switch it (that dose isn't on the wal-marts $4 list) so i'm now on 1000 a day and bcp. i haven't started thet met yet. i am having an hsg this friday and the print-out from the pharmacy says not to take it if you having any x-rays or anything involving dye. not really sure why, but i found the same info on line. hopefully this will be the last month on the bcp as we hope to another round of injections in sep. thanks girls!
