Default BCP and MEt

Ok... here's what I did.. I am currently on Met 1000 mg and was on mircette - I recently had started losing weight and was all excited and thought I would lose more if I tried going off the BCP. After 2 weeks the weight is coming back quick! ( I had lost 8 lb and 4 of it is back) I want to go back on the pills ASAP... Can I just start a new pack today or do I need to wait to see if I actually have a period?

Sometimes I just wonder why I have to mess!!!

I wasn't sure if I should post here or under BCP... so I did both!

Well it seems I am the opposite as you now that I am back on the pill (for personal reasons) It seems I am starting to lose weight not that I am sad about it but I am happy I just hate having to take the pill every night I will see if I have a period or not I usually can't even have a period on BC I know I know that is weird BUT after 6 months on 2000mg of glucophage I had a period in Jan, didn't in Feb and spotted in March Now this month I started back on the pill.

Ok to answer your Question start taking it around the first day
"after" you should have ended your period Did that make sense, if not then just start a new pack on Sunday that is what I did I was never regular so it's not like it will mess me up ya know

I wouldn't advise going back on the pill. It masks the symptoms of PCOS and doesn't fix the problem. And while weight loss is a good thing, don't fiddle with your hormones and go back on the pill just for weight loss! Health is more than losing weight and if you fix your hormones, the weight will come off.

Stay with your Met and give it 3 months. If you don't have a cycle on your own by then, see your Dr, but I am willing to bet the farm (if I had one!) that you will....I hadn't cycled on my own in 6 years and 3 months after beginning met I had a spontaneous period. They have been more or less regular ever since.

I believe the pill is a bad choice for most women and especially those with PCOS...the synthetic hormone surges are what make you feel better on the pill, and your body needs to cycle on it's own so it can achive the same same results NATURALLY.

If you have questions, feel free to post or check out the thread called "Why are you against BCP?" It is very enlightening .

Good Luck!
