I wouldn't advise going back on the pill. It masks the symptoms of PCOS and doesn't fix the problem. And while weight loss is a good thing, don't fiddle with your hormones and go back on the pill just for weight loss! Health is more than losing weight and if you fix your hormones, the weight will come off.
Stay with your Met and give it 3 months. If you don't have a cycle on your own by then, see your Dr, but I am willing to bet the farm (if I had one!) that you will....I hadn't cycled on my own in 6 years and 3 months after beginning met I had a spontaneous period. They have been more or less regular ever since.
I believe the pill is a bad choice for most women and especially those with PCOS...the synthetic hormone surges are what make you feel better on the pill, and your body needs to cycle on it's own so it can achive the same same results NATURALLY.
If you have questions, feel free to post or check out the thread called "Why are you against BCP?" It is very enlightening .
Good Luck!
