Hello there,

I just wanted to see if anybody else was feeling nauseated everyday from BCP and Metformin? I started BCP on New Year's Eve and increased my Met from 1500 mg to 2000 mg per day. Ever since, I've awaken with nausea and a "sick to my stomach" feeling. It doesn't seem to subside until after I've thrown up.

Has this occured to any of you? I'd really like to know if this is normal.

Years ago when I was on one of the "milder" bcp's I did get nausea with it. But, I had the following thoughts...

#1, perhaps 2000mg of Met is too much for your body.
#2, perhaps your pregnant.
#3, take the bcp at a diferent time of the day.
#4, give it another week to see if it settles.

But if it is interferring with your life or your are still concerned, contact your prescribing doctor. There may be a simple solution to it.

Hope the nausea goes away soon.

thanks for the response. I think you're right, maybe the 2000 mg of Metformin is just a little too much for my body to take right now. I had called my RE's office and they told me to take an HPT just in case... who knows, crazier things have happened and I may be pregnant So let's hope it's that!! In any case, thanks for the response...
