Default BCP for one month and now . . . acne? depression?

OK I am on the pill only briefly so that my body can "take a break" after a m/c, d&c and then some other weirdness (excessive build up of endometrial lining). So, I have been on Lo Ovral now for one month (after a crash course for a week to clear out the built up lining) and am on month two. My forehead is breaking out (haven't had acne like this in years) and during the off-week of my period I was SO DEPRESSED it was horrible. Really bad. So I am wondering - first of all, I don't think my gyn really knows or cares about PCOS. This is what she said (I was diagnosed by an RE based on bloodwork) as she was persuading me to go on the pill and I was epressing concern about being able to ttc - "Well, if you truly are PCO, then you will be just as screwed up after as you were before, so why are you even worrying about how it will effect your periods?" Point taken - but did she have to be such a ***** about it? Secondly, I did ask her not to put me on a triphasal (they really do a number on my moods) and she accomodated me on that, but then she wanted me on six months of this Lo Ovral and I really want to go back to ttcing (I mean, if I am "screwed up" does it matter if I take a 2 or a 6 month break?). So, the question is, do you all think that after this month of taking a break through artificial regularity I could just quit the pill? I was happier without it anyway - healthier etc. My sugar is off (I can feel it - yeast infections like crazy again) and I get these weird panicky heart palpitations all the time now.

See an RE to get an accurate answer. Your regular OB/GYN probably will not have an answer for you if she doesn't know much about PCOS. I actually had 2 OB/GYN's tell me that I did not have PCOS...they told me this while looking at a video with me that a doctor, back in my home town, made for me while doing a laparoscopy. Not only that, but I had been diagnosed with PCOS for 10 years propr to this event! Anyway, I then took the video to an RE at Emory in Atlanta who said that the video shows clearly that my ovaries are PCO. So, my point is, get another opinion.
Good Luck!

Sorry to hear your RE was such a b**ch! That was a very insensitive comment, and I agree with Char3, you should seek a 2nd opinion.

Your depression might have some other reasons, like the m/c but that's not necessarily the case.

I find that every BCP makes my depression much worse. Plus, I have the same problem as you regarding yeast infections etc. Probably our blood sugar gets all messed up, which would explain why I'm always hungrier when on the pill.

My point is that you should get a 2nd opinion. The pill can give your polycystic ovaries a rest, thus making it easier for you to have a regular cycle immediately after you quit. But maybe there are different options and there would be no need to torture yourself.

Good luck!
