Default BCP and PCOS

I was wondering if use of BCP can trigger the onset of PCOS...my reasoning is this:

I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for two years and the Ortho Evra patch for one year and had regular periods before and during use of birth control. However, after taking myself off of birth control due to severe nausea (BCP) and heart issues (patch) I noticed that I did not get my period for over a year and all the other symptoms started to present themselves. I did not have any symptoms of PCOS before I used birth control.

Yes indeed bcps can trigger PCOS, because when you come off them your body can find it difficult to readjust back to normal and then hormonal problems begin...which means you need bcp again and so the journey begins! I have found that Chinese Medicine and reflexology helped me when I came of bcp, it helped me to ovulate and have regular periods, so it was great.

I found that I has symptoms before bcp BUT they suddenly became unmanageable whilst on the pill. And then I was diagnosed.

I think that BCP caused my PCOS. I never had irregular periods before I started BCP at age 19. That means I had a regular period for 4 years and now that I am off of it...PCOS. I don't know that the alternative is any better though. I certainly would not have wanted to be a mom before I was ready.
