Default BCP Question

I have been on and off all different types of birth control for the last 2 years (since my dd was born) and can't seem to find the "right fit" for me. BCP's keep my cycles regular but leave me feeling unlike myself with nasty headaches. The few months I went off BCP I felt more like myself and had loads fewer headhaces but never cycled. My GYN says I should try Mirena but we're hacing insurance issues right now and can't afford the out of pocket costs. So, I guess I'm wondering if there is a way for me NOT to be on BCP's but to get the monthly visitor. Any ideas? Remedies? Thoughts?
Thanks!!!

i'm not very knowledgeable about other treatments (other than bcps), but what about checking out the other message boards on metformin and alternative therapies. there's no sense staying on a bcp that gives you headaches - that's definitely not a long term solution!

good luck with your search. please keep us updated!

Have you tried changing your diet? Take multi-vitamins, take extra magnesium and folic acid. Also, exercise at least 3 times a week and do strength straining to build lean muscle.

This is all it took for me to get a regular cycle and I had NEVER had one before in my entire life.

chromium piconilate makes mine start...it doesn't really keep it regular though...it still comes when it wants to...but it comes
