Does anybody here have a longer AF when on BCP's?? I used to have 4-5 day periods (when I was regular and off BCP's), but now they're aboout 7 days on Ortho-Tricyclen Lo. Very unusual for me since I've had my period for 10 years and it was always 4-5 days. I've also heard BCP's make periods shorter.....??

You know I was on Orthro Tri LO for 3 months and I hated it because it made my periods so long!! When I was off bcp I was 5 days....On Ortho Tri I am 7 or 8 days. Granted it is light towards the end. Now that I am on just plain Ortho it is shorter.

I am on Cyclen (same as Ortho-Cyclen in the States) and my period lasts for about 5 days. I normally get it on Wednesday night or Thursday morning (of the week on the "fake" pills)and it lasts until Monday or Tuesday at the latest usually. Normally by Monday it's slowed down considerably and is tapering off.
Sheesh - it would annoy me if it lasted any longer than it does now!
My AF lasts about 7-8 days now that I'm on Ortho Tri-Cyclen. Without it my AF was 4-5 days but it was so sporatic. I would rather take the bcp and have a longer AF and be more regular.

When I was on Mercette (sp) my period was 13 days and extremely heavy with terrible cramps. My normal not on BCP period was only between 5-6 days. The pills ended up causing me to really get screwed up. After stopping them I was having a period every other week. So my Dr decided to put me on Yasmin. I am currently on the 3 day of the "fake pills" and AF is still not here so I don't know how these pills are going to affect me. Justh thought I would let you know that you are not the only one that has had a reaction like that to the BCP.
