Default bcp and spiro

I asked my doctor for bcp and spiro to help with my hair loss and hair growth, because i read on webmd that they in combination can help. And i read that spiro can make more excess hair grow, and bcp can make more hair fall out on your head! Im so confused. Im only 21 and losing my hair is very stressful.

Can you take the spiro alone. Thats what i wanna ask my doc because i don't want anymore bc either. I'm also 21. I'm going through the same thing right now. Everytime i wash my hair it looks like less. Its been falling out for months I'm almost bald. I'm also debating on the birth control. I wanna ask my dr for something like spiro too. I'd rather have to pluck/shave than have no hair at this point. I might try the rogain too even though i read it can cause facial hair.

I can't really help with the thinning hair, but I do take Spiro and a bcp. My issues with excess hair has not gotten worse, and the bcp did not make my hair fall out. I know that now everyone has the same experience, but that was my experience. If there is even a chance you may get pregnant because spiro will cause birth defects in an unborn baby. Many doctors will not prescribe spiro without some form of bcp.

Do it! spironolactone worked FABULOUS for me. Especially in combination with laser electrolysis. I have been on spiro and BC forever and it's worked great. It takes like 6 months to slow the hair growth though. You'll still grow it if you don't have laser or something done but it will come back more slowly.

I had laser on my back and chest along with spiro and the hair hasn't come back and its been about 4 years!!!

So definitely look into it and if you can afford it, get laser done. It cost me about $1600 for my chest and back to be hairless!

Good luck!
