The rest of my levels are normal, but my DHEA-S levels are elevated - I think the number was over 400. The RE prescribed BCPs and said I'd be on them for life to alleviate symptoms. He also wants me to get a CT scan of my adrenal gland to see if there's a tumor there or something, but my insurance is kind of sucky right now and I can't afford to shell out $2000 for it at the moment. Is it typical to prescribe BCPs for this? He said I'm a little "PCOS-y." I didn't get any other tests done besides a hormone panel and I told him my symptoms and medical history.

my dr prescribed me bcp for high DHEA-S. something in the pill binds with the DHEA-S.
