Default BCPs Making Symptoms Worse

Has anyone had issues while on Estelle 35 (Diane 35) where it isnt helping??

I been on Estelle 35 (Diane 35) and Im about to go into my 5th cycle but ever since I started my hair started falling out in clumps, facial hair grew longer and the acne on my face is a total mess, worse than ever in my life. I have an oil slick on my face throughout the whole cycle that I never had before and my face feels like braile arrrrrrgh. I was hoping this BCP would stop the severe nights sweats that I have been having but now they are chronic and causing me to wake 3-4 times dripping wet. Apparently this is a sure sign of estrogen dominance and my adding more estrogen in the form of BCP has blown my hormones right outta whack. I thought BCPs were sposed to regulate everything? if anything it made things worse?

The other thing is I think I have a blood clot in my left leg as I cant stand on it for long and sometimes gets tingling in my toes. This is a red flag for me but Im too scared to stop the pill in fear my face will look like a monster??

The only thing this BCP has helped with was the mad headaches I used to get at ovulatuon for 3 days and just before I menstruated.

Anyways trying to find a cure for my skin was how I found out that I had PCOS.

I been reading that book "what your doctor may not tell you about premenopause" and Im so shocked I hadnt read it before I started BCPs I never would have touched them.

Natural Progesterone Cream is my last line of defence and Im off to the doc to get a prescription as its the only way in to obtain in New Zealand, please work???

Hello! I'm also from New Zealand!

I would definately stop your BCP if you're worried about blood clots. Surely there is no side effect worse than a blood clot? There are plenty of other BCPs you can try other than Diane/Estelle. I've been on Estelle and Monofeme and I'm currently on Norimin and I haven't had an increase in my symptoms. There are also lots of avenues outside medication you can try too. I'm about to start spearmint tea for my facial hair.

OK so im back from my GP and he pretty much said he wasnt going to give me progestorone cream????? and that im in no danger of having a blood clot WTF????? couldnt really tell me why but hinted he didnt know much about it. Still charged me for the visit and gave me a prescription for Differin and rushed me out the door. I felt like I was being told I couldnt have something I needed. Might change GPs? as mine is totally annoyed by womans issues

Who do I go and see next for NPC? How do I find someone in New Zealand that will prescribe it to me? naturopath or something? can you get it off the internet?

Maybe someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I'm 99% sure than being on a BCP - any BCP - increases your risk for blood clots. And I'm sure Diane/Estelle is the worst for increasing risk. Did he give reason for not wanting to change medications and give you progestorone cream? If he can't give you a definitive reason then I would definately seek out a second opinion. In fact I would seek out a second opinion just to compare reasons. lol Maybe ask around in the Aussie/NZ area of soul cysters? I'm sorry I dont know a lot about progesterone cream.

OMG! If you even THINK you might have a blood clot, go to the ER right away, it's nothing to play with. I got a blood clot from Yaz and almost died. My PCP didn't believe I had a clot b/c I was only 25 and I had no other factors that might contribute to such a thing. I called my GYN and described symptoms (heat, throbbing, pain, etc) and they told me to get to the ER right away. The ER doc didn't believe me and wanted to do a doppler ultrasound of my vein to "prove me wrong"...sure enough, I had a clot. I had the clot symptoms on and off for almost 2 years. They got worse when I was on BCP. The clot could have dislodged at any time and gone to my heart or brain. Go get a doppler of your veins asap.

My GP pretty much laughed at me when I said I might have a blood clot, he asked if I had any chest pain and I said no. I mean I have a great big ugly vericose vein in that leg and he said that was no indication but it is?

GPs (esp men) arent very sympathetic to "womans issues" so I asked for a referral to see a gyno or endo.
