I'm still looking around for more natural alternatives to met (I could cope with the side effects but hated that I had such an unbalanced diet!). Today i got a newsletter from Nature Bee - our whole extended family was taking bee pollen for a while. One of their products is
Bee Slim and I'm wondering if any of you have taken it or know anything about the 'ingredients':
Quote:
Green Tea (camellia sinensis) Can slow the release of carbohydrates, which promotes fat burning over fat storage. Contains a small amount of caffeine, which can increase the body’s basal metabolic rate. Capsicum (Cayenne) Contains thermogenic compounds. The stimulation of lipids (fats) metabolism by capsicum can be attributed to fat mobilisation from adipose tissue. Atractolydes A general energy tonic that is very helpful in normalising the digestive system and regulating the appetite. It is also an excellent natural diuretic. Licorice Helps to regulate blood sugar levels and regulates appetite. Citrus Aurantium (Bitter Orange) This herb increases the metabolism (thermogenesis) and assists body fat breakdown without increasing the heart rate. Panax Ginseng One of the most famous of Asian herbs. Rich in vitamins and minerals, Panax Ginseng strengthens the immune system, normalises and stimulates the metabolism and helps to lower cholesterol levels. Guarana Used for thousands of years by Amazonian Indians as both a tonic and a stimulant. Guarana contains a natural form of caffeine plus guaranine, saponins and glycosides. These unique ingredients modify the effect of the caffeine, reducing its peaks and moderating its levels over a long period of time. This provides a steady boost to the metabolism, increases the sense of wellbeing and blunts the appetite. Inositol A fundamental ingredient of cell membranes, sometimes referred to as Vitamin B8, Inositol aids in the breakdown of fats, especially in the liver, and helps to reduce harmful cholesterol. It has also shown promising results in the reduction of hair loss and the alleviation of depression. |
What I'm most interested in is the Inositol... I know there is myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol but how do I know which is in the 'Bee Slim'? And will it be enough for me to give me a little bit of an edge like I did with met? I will eventually call Nature Bee for more info but I'd rather hear my cysters thoughts as you aren't trying to sell me the product!
