And finally decided to create an account.

My name is Jo, and I was diagnosed with PCOS late 2006. I've had a very hard time finding proper treatment so i've been scouring the internet for information and I came upon this site. I'm very glad I did, because even in lurking i've found great information!

I'm currently taking Metformin but have not seen any change in symptoms. My OBGYN wanted to put me on birth control, but I have high blood pressure (since I was 16) and they don't want me on BC yet.
I've been on Spironalactone, but that didn't seem to help me either and I was taken off of it.

I'm very frustrated with doctors at this point, and felt like I had no where to turn for the right information or advice, but I think i've found it here.

So you'll probably see me around the board fairly often, soaking up all your information!

welcome to sc i personally cant take bcp cos of my blood pressure, but some ladies ae fine on it.

One of my close friends also has PCOS and she stopped taking birth control to try to get pregnant (just had her daughter in Februrary!), and she said she really hasn't noticed a difference without the bc. Given she was pregnant most of the time, that obviously makes a difference in your hormones. So i'm not sure if I want to risk it and get on bc anyway.
