My name is Rachel and DH and I have been ttc #1 for a year now.
I am seeing a fertility specialist now and just had my first cycle of tests, the SHG and endo biopsy, DH had 3 S/A's, blood tests, other minor stuff for both like bloodwork. We get those results on July 26th.
At first I thought the obgyn was sending me to the endocrinologist as they had suspiscion of a pituitary tumour (5mm microadenoma) but when I met with the endo he is not convinced as my prolactin levels are around 50 and with an adenoma they should be in the 100s.
I have regular periods but lately they have been getting longer and a bit heavier. I have absolutely no menstrual cramps at all.
My great grandfather had diabetes, my grandfather has diabetes. My dad, grandfather and little brother all have premature male patter baldness which I have heard is the male version of PCOS - this raised the endo's eyebrow when I told him yes to both questions about having this in the family.
I just did my glucose test this morning. I have to redo my prolactin and thyroid on Thursday and should get all these results on July 18th before the appt with ther fertility specialist which is great.
That is my story and the endocrinologist said his gut feeling is that I have PCOS (insulin resistance).
