Oh i know exactly what you're talking about! I wish i had left mine alone, because it was sparse and dark, but fine, and just bleached it because I shaved it, and thats the worst thing icould ever done; BLACK hair grew- not even my pubic hair is that dark or coarse so i was disgusted. I started plucking, and the hair mysteriously grew back finer again, (dont ask me how, but i'm not going to question science here, i'm just going to be grateful!) I'm going to let it grow out and then see how it responds to waxing because shaving gives me the bumps and stubble.

I was feeling so bad about it one day and I told my friend and she doesn't have PCOS, but says because she's hispanic, she has to pluck out a few strays that appear under her belly button. So its not just a PCOS thing.

Anyway hun, I hope waxing works for both of us!

I just shave mine as well. I have gone on meds before but they never seemed to help me. I know with using the nair stuff and creams I have had ingrown hairs but with waxing I also had ingrown hairs. It's different with everyone so keep trying new things. Good Luck!

Oh, I know how you feel about having hair there. I use Veet with the plastic tool and it works pretty well. The downside, I have to do it frequently. My hair on my legs is such a pain in the butt too....grows fast, coarse, and is prone to ingrown hairs. I find soaking in a bath for a while and then using Aveeno Shave Gel is good for the legs and I don't get the ingrown hairs when I do that. Good luck

I first noticed hair on my belly around age 12. It's always been coarse and dark. The hair on my face and arms didn't show up until I was in my mid-20s. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 44. For the two years I was on 1500 mg of Met without any other treatment for PCOS. I lost about 25 pounds, but didn't see any change in the hair. For the past year I've been on 2000 mgs of Met, Yaz and 50mg of Spiro. For the first time in 30 years the hair on my belly has turned fine and light. My arm hair is lighter too. I'm not sure how the meds affected my facial hair because I had laser hair removal treatments too. My facial hair is where I still have my worst problem. I still pluck everyday, but I'm down to once a day. I was tweezing twice a day. It's the coarse blonde/white hair that won't seem to go away.

I also have hair on my belly. I have that "landing strip" as they call it that goes from the belly button down to the pubic area. I only shave that area instead of my entire belly. The rest of the har on my belly is light so it doesnt bother me as much, but that strip that goes from the belly button down is really dark and coarse as well.
I have heard a lot of people use Magic Cream on the "down there" area so since it seems harmless on your back and some girls have used it on the pubic area, I think it would be ok. But I myself have not used it.

maic cream or magic powder is a hair remover targeted for a black mans beard. So its like nair where you just put it on for a few minutes and wipe it off but its really gentle.

A lot of girls have used in on the woo haa and its worked really good. So you can use it I would think anywhere.

I use both Magic Cream and shave my belly hair. (My not so happy trail)
The shaving seems to be the easiest and quickest method, but it doesn't help at all with growth or texture. I use the Magic Cream about once a month on my "down under parts" and go ahead and apply it to my belly hair as well. It does take longer for the hair to grow back, but I haven't noticed a difference in texture yet...I've only been using Magic Cream for about 6 months now though, and it could take longer for the texture of the hair to change.
Hope this helps!

Not-so-happy trail! Love that...

I actually wax everything and it seems to have helped with the texture. It grows back much more slowly but I get the worst ingrowns! Errr... I've had laser treatments in the past and that has helped somewhat.

It's a relief seeing that other ladies deal with this, too. It's really embarrassing for me. I shave my belly area, but can never get rid of the stubble, and end up with red bumps and irritation. I think I'm going to try Magic Cream and see how that goes- it seems like shaving/Nair/tweezing hasn't been much help for me thus far.

I shaved mine for a while, but I just bought a buffer and started using that instead. I like it a lot -- but I have to be sure to moisturize really well because it can be irritating to my skin. HTH.
